Android apps looking for closed-test participants

Choose an app that interests you. Read its language, device and testing requirements before applying.

How to start your Google Play closed test

  1. Share your app and testing tasks

Create an account and add your Android app, screenshots, supported languages and Play opt-in link. Explain which features you want testers to try and what feedback would help.

  2. Grant test access through the shared Google Group

Add the Google Group to your closed test’s testers in Play Console. Group members must also opt in to the app’s Play test using the same account.

  3. Track 14 days of participation and feedback

Review declared start dates, daily testing records and reported issues. Recruit replacement candidates from your waiting list, export results and check Play Console separately.

Who needs 12 testers for 14 days?

Under Google's current requirements, personal developer accounts created after 13 November 2023 must complete a closed test with at least 12 testers opted in continuously for at least 14 days before applying for production access. Download counts or group membership alone do not qualify. Production access requires a separate application after testing.

Testing progress, private evidence and reports

Your dashboard includes individual start dates and remaining days, daily tasks, private screenshots, reviews and final reports. Website progress is based on user declarations and manual review; it does not automatically verify Google Play enrollment. Check production eligibility in Play Console.

How contribution points work

Earn contribution points by completing real tasks and providing useful feedback on other apps. An approved quick test earns 2 points. A closed test earns 10 points after a reviewed start, 14 days, at least 10 valid daily records and approved final feedback. Publishing a testing campaign costs 30 points; first-campaign sponsorship can be requested. Positive store reviews or star ratings are not required.

Google Play closed testing FAQ

Where can I find 12 testers for my Android app?

Share your app with the Duran Apps developer community and ask for testing support. Existing users, friends and Android communities can also help you recruit testers. Participant numbers and recruitment times are not guaranteed.

Does joining a Google Group count as opting in?

No. A group or email list grants access. Each tester must also open the app's opt-in link with the same Play account, accept the test, install the app and try the developer's testing tasks.

When does the 14-day closed-testing period start?

Each tester has an individual continuous enrollment period in Google Play. Publishing a campaign does not start everyone's clock. Duran Apps estimates progress from reviewed declarations; check the actual status in Play Console. A replacement tester does not inherit another person's days.

Does missing a daily record reset the test?

A missing website check-in is not, by itself, a withdrawal from Google Play and does not reset the site's clock. Record genuine use and issues regularly. Platform reward rules are separate from Google's enrollment requirements.

Will my app be published automatically after 12 testers and 14 days?

No. You must apply for production access in Play Console. Google reviews tester engagement, feedback and app readiness and may request more testing. Duran Apps is independent of Google and does not guarantee approval.
